And after 49 there was......

Chard- "Colour Sergeant! If you have something to report, tell me"

Colour Sergeant Bourne - "Very Good Sir! Sentries report, Kingsleypark Followers to the Southwest, 50 of them!"

Bromhead - "50! So many and so soon! How does the man do it?"

Reynolds - "Damned if I can tell you boy, but looks like the bugger's here to stay!"

Well folks, finally the Followers total on the resurrected blog has hit the magic number 50. Thanks to Remco of Remco Miniatures blog who got us there but of course, thanks to one and all who have signed up to these inane witterings.

Looking back at the blog posts before the Great Hiatus, the old blog hit the 50 follower mark after 16 weeks and 1 day whereas this time it took 15 weeks and 6 days - spooky!

Truth is there are probably more than 50 people following this blog but there are some stalwarts who are linked to the old blog and thus don't appear on the current list of Followers, so if you want your mug shot to appear in the new line of icons, you'll need to click the "Follow" button again which now lurks at the bottom of the blog page (and that includes you Ruarok and Cammie!!)

Now it seems to be an accepted blogger custom that when a person's blog hits such a milestone that there should be a competition and being a great follower of tradition I intend to uphold this custom. So bear with me while I get some prizes together and then come back and see what's on offer.

And although Zulu is my all time favourite film, thanks must go Michael Awdry and his fabulous paint jobs of the Gonville Bromhead figures by Black Scorpion and Empress Miniatures for the inspiration for the little intro above. You can see Michael's fab figures here . If you haven't seen them already then get over there now!!

  2. Congratulations!
I know that it's something strange, but we are a little proud when we saw that our blog (and our work!) receive some interest from men (and women!)we have never meet!
The problem (if it's a problem!) is that we must improve more and more !

    1. Thanks Sam! You are right, it is very flattering to receive interest in your blog from people far and wide. Hopefully, I can continue to put up posts that people will want to read about.

  3. Over 22,000 views is pretty impressive too; I've only managed 12,000 in a time-scale similar to yours, and even that was by dressing some posts up in fishnets and a mini-skirt and making them stand around on virtual street-corners :)

    1. Cheers Kaptain! Posting links to the blog on the TMP message boards has the same effect as the fish nets!

  6. Congrats on the 50 followers, I'm sure you'll double that number in less than the 15 weeks and 6 days it took to get the first 50!!

  8. Very many congratulations! I love the intro and thank you for the wonderfully kind link; a gentleman and a scholar. I have absolutely no doubt that the population of the menagerie will continue to swell in the coming months, it is just too good not too!

  9. Congratulations on the hallmark, before you know it you'll be announcing 100 followers. Once you find yourself with a group of people as nice as these the numbers go up quickly.

    1. Thanks Anne! I'm still a bit amazed that people come back to read my witterings but it's also very flattering.

Working (very slowly) through that box of figures!
